We have some amazing wipe-clean activity cards that are just perfect for Summer travel, waiting at the doctor's office or in a restaurant, and great for any situation where you'd rather your child be creative instead of in front of a screen! I like to hole punch my cards and keep them on a key ring, usually just 10 or so cards at a time and switch them out every week or so.

These look awesome! I'm waiting for a few I ordered to arrive. We leave in a few weeks for a 2 day road trip and looking forward to these for my kids since we don't watch tv. Particularly I like your idea about putting only a few cards on a ring. Must get some rings! Thanks!
